clerner@tangentcapital.comChris has over 12 years of experience in M&A, strategic planning and integration, and venture to growth stage investments, both as an advisor and principal. Chris began his career with Citigroup’s Corporate and Investment Bank and its predecessor firms of Smith Barney and Salomon Brothers where he was based in New York, Hong Kong and Beijing, and completed over $10 billion of middle market and cross border transactions. Later, Chris moved to corporate management where he was responsible for Strategy and Business Development including M&A, post-merger integration, new brand incubations, licensing and distribution; first, for his family’s business and then, for The Timberland Company (NYSE: TBL), where he completed the first four acquisitions in that company’s history. Most recently, Chris founded Mercer Street Capital, a strategic advisory and investment firm that focuses on privately held businesses in the US, China and Vietnam. Chris attended Tufts University and earned his MBA from Columbia University. He was awarded a certificate in Mandarin Chinese from the College of Foreign Languages in Beijing and is a Managing Member of California Wellness LLC.
